How It Started

Yoga and Cheeseburgers, pretty much what the title says. This whole adventure started in downtown Anchorage.   A friend of mine wanted to start getting back in shape and since she is a girl she thinks that yoga is exercise.  As a proponent of all things fitness related, and the good friend that I am, I decided that I would tag along (yoga pants, am I right?).  Plus having a cast on my hand for a broken thumb I needed to find something to keep myself busy. Well I’m also a dude so I also love to eat and after the first yoga session we went to get a cheeseburger at a local spot we frequent. Yoga and Cheeseburgers was born, trying new burger spots each week.  As the summer ended like it always does up here in Alaska and the free yoga stopped, I still craved cheeseburgers on Wednesdays.  Yoga and Cheeseburgers turned into Cheeseburger Wednesday.  I started posting some reviews of the burgers on the Facey Space, rating the burgers around town and decided that I wanted to find the best burger in Anchorage.  I’ll continue searching south central Alaska for that burger until my enlistment is up here at JBER, then I’ll take this show on the road, enjoy.

Ground Rules

There aren’t many rules, well only two really.

  1. It can’t be a national chain restaurant.  If you come to Anchorage I’m not going to tell you to go to Red Robin for a good burger because it’s the same burger I can get in Detroit or Miami.  I’m looking for that local flavor, something home-grown.
  2. It has to be in Anchorage to make the list.  I’ll eat and review other burgers around, but for the best burger in Anchorage you have to be in Anchorage.
  3. This really isn’t a rule, but I’ll post about whatever I want because this is my blog.  Will I review yoga, no, probably not.  Will I rage about something, maybe. It all depends on what I feel like doing.
